We formed SeaAhead to encourage and accelerate new bluetech startups with commercial solutions that solve the biggest challenges facing ocean industries and ocean health. These new companies will build on scientific and advocacy advances to create massive scalability, and change our global trajectory. Through our Boston hub space, the BlueSwell Program, our Blue Angels investor group and an engaged public and private-sector network, SeaAhead supports the entrepreneurs that will turn the tide.
SeaAhead is the Program Manager for BlueSwell, responsible for executing the application process, recruitment and cohort management.

The New England Aquarium is a global leader in marine science and conservation. With more than 1.3 million visitors a year, we are one of the premier visitor attractions in Boston and a major public education resource for the region. Building on the our 50-year legacy of protecting the blue planet and advocating for vital and vibrant oceans, the Anderson Cabot Center for Ocean Life, established in 2016, leads the way in cutting-edge applied marine research and data-driven conservation, offering practical solutions to mitigate human impacts on our ocean. We look forward to supporting new founders in their endeavors as a natural extension of that work.
The New England Aquarium is the fiduciary for BlueSwell and will be screening applications for environmental impact, as well as using its scientific & conservation expertise to mentor founders.

“I do a lot of mentoring. This one was special as it was in marine tech so I could also offer domain expertise. BlueSwell did a great job orchestrating the mentors, creating venues both structured and unstructured for the mentors to interact with the CEOs. It was a really positive experience for me.
